Narrow Row House-Residential Project.
Palembang is a city with too many shophouse (RUKO stands for Rumah toko), usually many houses have only 3meter-5meter width with no chance to create window on sides because it pack with other houses. This has affected how people living condition, lack of air circulation and natural lights. Therefore people use mechanical solution such as air conditioner and light fixture which will cause energy consumption.
In this case Waidesignlab rethink and reshape traditional narrow shophouse ,we try to bring healthy air circulation and rich natural sunlight into the home by ceating inner courtyard. By minimizing building too many walls it helps to create much more open space and help to encounter the narrow width of the site.
Each rooms also now can have their own window facing through the inner courtyard, which will help to create more healthy life.
